Non-Hermitian edge burst without skin localization

چکیده

In a class of non-Hermitian quantum walk in lossy lattices with open boundary conditions, an unexpected peak the distribution decay probabilities appears at edge, dubbed edge burst. It is proposed that burst originated jointly from skin effect (NHSE) and imaginary gaplessness spectrum [Wen-Tan Xue et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 128, 120401 (2022)]. Using particular one-dimensional lattice nonuniform loss rate, we show can occur even absence localization. Furthermore, discuss may not appear if satisfies gaplesness condition. Aside its fundamental importance, by removing restrictions on observing effect, our results door to broader design space for future applications effect.
